ADOPTED

Goldie spent many years in a quiet home with a cat, Clyde. At first she was worried when she moved into our household full of rambunctious Old Goldens, but within days she fit right in with the gang. With our 5 elder dogs, Goldie is polite & calm & friendly. But Goldie's pal is Cheerio the blonde 8-month-old...I can hear them in the living room now, jumping & wrestling & making snarly monster noises as they play...it takes Cheerio to bring out Goldie's long forgotten wild puppy frenzies. :-) Goldie requests an adoptive home with cats and/or other dogs to keep her company.

Every evening, Goldie rides along on our 5:00 dog drive...6 Goldens in the Explorer (Buster stays home)...15 mph through the neighborhood...windows up tight if Cheerio is along, windows down low if she's not. Last night, we drove through a heavily treed area, where construction had not yet begun. Two deer stood in the evening sun, silent & still. We stopped the Explorer at the side of the street, pointing & whispering "Look That Way, See the Deer!" The deer watched us for the longest time, until Ace let loose with a mighty yodel. The rest of the dogs let rip with fierce barks as the deer bounded away. What did Goldie do?...She flew into the front seat, right onto my lap, where she happily rode sidekick for the rest of the drive!

Goldie is mostly perfect, except for one little habit...she gets waaaay too excited at meal time. She watches closely while we line 6 bowls & one plate along the kitchen counter...measuring dog foods & meds, adding cooked green veggies or fish or healthy tidbits. Once we glop in canned food & begin the final stir, Goldie goes wild -- bark! hop! bark! bounce! She zooms to her particular spot in the doorway near the fridge, bouncing & barking & hopping & grinning until supper arrives. For all her silliness, we can't believe what happens next...she delicately picks out each morsel of greenery and tosses it onto the floor.

Goldie loves tummy rubs & leashed walks. She is trustworthy loose in the house -- no need to crate her. She sleeps all night long in the bedroom; no snoring. She is a happy friend & easy companion...delightful!
