Emma...
Says Emma’s foster dad…
“Emma is a very loving and gentle pooch that didn’t get a good first start in
life. Her previous owners made her stay outside her whole life and when GRR
found her; she was a very dirty dog. However, after a bath or two her beautiful
coat shines.
Emma loves all the attention she is getting at her foster home. She is really
taking advantage of the second chance that she has been given.
Even after being an outside dog, Emma has had no potty problems in the house
while adapting to inside living. She still has a little trouble getting into the
crate, but who can blame her. However, with a little coaxing, she does go
inside.
Emma had a sister named Abby at her old house that she could play with. I
believe she would do well with a dog friend to keep her company during the day
while the owners are away.
She hasn’t quite learned to walk well on a leash, but she does love to practice
and as smart as this dog is, I don’t think it will take her any time at all to
get the hang of it. She has learned to fetch and release with a very little
coaxing. She can sit and we are still working on getting her to lie down. Emma
knows her manners and doesn’t jump up on people. You can always tell when she is
excited, by the way her tail starts wagging making a “thump, thump, thump”
sound.
Emma loves attention. She is always ready for a good pet on the head or scratch
behind the ears. She does know when her owners are busy too, and will quietly
lie down, giving you a great big smile with those puppy dog eyes, until you
realize that whatever you are doing isn’t really that important.”
