ADOPTED

Dakota

My name is Dakota. I am a 5 year old female. I was given to GRR by my owners because they knew GRR could find me a home since my lifelong family had to move into an apartment. I have spent my entire life inside, and I have the manners of a true lady.  I have shown my foster family that I am very trustworthy in the house.  I don’t counter surf, I am 100% potty trained and I have even trained my foster family to let me out when I do the “potty dance” at the back door.  I do not get on the furniture and have no destructive behaviors.  I know the commands sit, stay, down, and I pretty much have heel down pat.  When it is bedtime I quietly sleep at the foot of my foster parents’ bed on the floor and do not bother them until they both get up in the morning.

I like to bounce and play at times.  Right now I have three foster kids that I play with everyday, ages 5, 8, and 11.    I LOVE tennis balls!  I like to chase them down and sometimes I will even bring them back to you.  My favorite thing to do is to roll back and forth on my back while playing with a tennis ball in my mouth or batting it with my feet.  My 10 year old foster brother Jed is not very playful, but I have even managed to get a twinkle in his eyes every now and then.

I have a strange way that I like to lay down.  I like to roll on my side and rest with one leg sticking straight up in the air.  Some say that it looks silly, but I say “dare to be different”!  If you scratch my chest just right I like to madly thump my leg to show you just how much I LOVE the scratching.

I adjusted to my foster home almost immediately and I would love to come to my forever home with you and show you just how much of a big sweetie I am.
