Bear... When we first got Bear he was a shy, timid boy, clinging to the back seat of the car and staring at the floor. Any little touch or soft voice would set him more and more at ease. This confused little guy did not know what was going on, as he had gone from a home --to a shelter – then in the backseat of someone’s care. But what was in store for him brought the spunk right back into this charming guy. Suddenly a HUGE backyard, a dog-size swimming pool and two companions.. YES! It was clear that Bear loved the outdoors and loved the water.

For the first couple of days Bear was not interested in any toys, just a little TLC. He does really great around women and had some apprehension around men. My husband has been working with Bear and he now understands that men are not big and scary. He needed that sense of comfort.

It was apparent that he was never crate trained and it has taken him a while, but he now gets in without a fuss. This boy is definitely a lover! In the past week he has really come out of his shell. We have nicknamed him the “Helicopter”. Whenever he gets excited, there’s no hiding it. He has this twirly little happy dance. He turns in circles, and round and round he goes. We get dizzy just watching him! Then all of sudden he stops and props his head up on your lap. He isn’t dizzy from his happy dance he’s just dizzy with delight!

The name “Bear” fits him perfectly, as you can tell by the pictures. When you pet his head he practically melts in your hands. Bear is great in the house; he does not jump on the furniture and always chews on his stuffed animals and doggy toys. We are working on training him to “sit” and lay “down”. He is doing great, an honor roll student!

If you are looking for a sweet, laid back, teddy bear, this is your boy!
