ADOPTED
Koda
was found wandering stray by a Good Samaritan, who kept him safe in her
apartment until she could surrender him to GRR. “If I had a house with a
yard, I’d keep him in a second,” she said. “He is just such a love.” We have
certainly found that description to be true! Koda is a very sweet and gentle
boy, and everything he does is so gentle and careful. Only about 2 or 2 1/2
years old, this beautiful blond boy is quite small for a Golden male,
weighing in at just 60 pounds.
Koda
hasn't had an accident in the house, and he does very well in his crate when
we are not home. At night, he has slept both in and out out of his crate,
and he seems perfectly content either way.
He gets along very well with our other two male Goldens. They can all three
play for hours, playing keep away with toys or just rolling around
wrestling. Koda knows how to interact with other dogs and is a very
fun-loving, considerate playmate. He even gets along great with our
6-year-old cat—he just sniffs the cat a bit, then moves on.
Koda
has very good manners. He doesn't bark, he takes treats and food very
nicely, and he doesn't usually jump up on you (he has only done this a few
times, when he's been really excited). He doesn't climb on the furniture—
instead, he just plops his pretty head in your lap for love!
Koda
loves going for walks and is very good on a leash. He walks calmly and
politely with the other dogs and doesn't stop every second to sniff another
dog or check out the flowers. He also rides in the car very well.
Given
his wonderful, patient personality, Koda would be wonderful with children.
He enjoys lots attention and love, and will quickly roll onto his back for a
tummy rub if you give him just the slightest encouragement! He follows me
all through the house, always just one small step behind me... even more
than my other two boys. I think he knows how lucky he is to be brought into
this wonderful organization, and I just know he will be an amazing addition
to a loving family.
