ADOPTED

Princess is an adorable 1 1/2-year-old girl with an extra-fluffy, medium-gold coat and beautiful amber eyes. She is an incredibly loving dog who craves attention and affection-and will even put her arms around you if you don't watch out! At 60 pounds, she is just the right size.

Princess came to GRR from a loving mom whose work required so many hours that she couldn't give Princess the kind of attention every dog deserves. When she arrived at our home, Princess was very shy, both around us and our own Golden Abby. Wow, what a difference two weeks can make! Princess now loves to play with Abby and her cousin dog, Beau. When she meets new people and dogs, she may still be a little skittish at first, but she gets comfortable very quickly.

Princess is leery of the car. We're trying to boost her "car confidence" by driving to McDonald's for a hamburger at least once a week! She's doing better-she even puts her head out the window once we are on the go (of course, we only allow this when we're driving really slowly on low-traffic side streets). She still doesn't jump willingly into the car, but all in good time!

Princess was kept outdoors at her previous home, so she loves being an indoor dog now! She is getting the hang of this housebreaking thing. She gets tasty treats when she does her business outside, which is really helping her understand the logic of pottying outdoors.

We're pretty sure Princess has had no formal training, but we're working on it- and she has already learned "Come," "Off," and "Sit" pretty well. She is also learning that jumping on people is not acceptable. Princess is a good eater and cat friendly. She's great with kids, but she is still a puppy and sometimes doesn't know how big she is, so her her forever family will want to watch her with very small children.

We just can't say enough good things about Princess! She is the most loving dog we've ever met, and her pictures just don't do her justice. She is beautiful inside and out, and with a little training and structure in her life, she will make some lucky family the very best dog ever.
