ADOPTED

Brandy has only been with us for 5 days and has already stolen our hearts. She is also the most well behaved dog in the house! Brandy's unique way of saying hello is to sneak up on you from behind and poke her head between your knees (sometimes higher), so be prepared to ride a Golden! This sweet, mellow girl walks wonderfully on a leash and knows; come, sit, stay, down and she'll offer her paw for a shake. She is great in the car, and even happy at the vet and groomer! She has not tried to get on any furniture or counter surf.

She likes to play fetch but her favorite part of the game is when the human has to take the ball from her mouth. Our dogs have tried to engage her in play, but so far she hasn't shown much interest. Perhaps she just needs to learn how, or maybe it's still too soon for her. She may, in time, show us her playful side.

Brandy came to us with skin allergies but is already getting under control with some medication and good nutrition. She also needs to lose a few pounds but really enjoys her exercise so this should not be a problem.

Brandy likes to hang out wherever the pack is or sleep under the kitchen table. She will make an excellent companion for anyone. She is incredibly sweet and patient with little children. Brandy will tolerate all kinds of "petting" and exploring from little hands.

Update 1/26/04:

Brandy has settled in so wonderfully. Her skin allergies seem to be under control. The change in diet to a lamb and rice food has helped tremendously. She feels better and looks wonderful. And, just as we suspected, she is beginning to really bloom. She loves the dog toys and is having a ball playing tag and fetch! She really is a sweet girl. Any family would be so lucky to have Brandy as part of their family.
