Adopted

Frio... He was picked up stray in San Antonio by a good samaritan. Frio has been fostering with us now for a week and a half and he is the perfect gentleman.  He is wonderful with our golden and our field spaniel. They gave him the nod of approval immediately, he is such a friendly guy. He even gets along fabulously with our cat. Frio just pretty much ignores her, even when she is trying desperately to get him to pay attention to her. True to golden form, Frio loves kids. He gets so excited to see our son, and if more kids come in the house, he can hardly stand it until they pet him.

We've been able to leave him loose in the house all day while we are at work with no problems. He is totally reliable in the house and has never tried to get into anything inappropriate.  What a loveable guy he is, but not at all demanding about getting attention. He just soaks up whatever playtime and belly rubs he can get. The gentle placement of his head on your arm or lap will let you know that he feels he is being left out.

We've been so amazed with his well mannered, slow eating habits considering that he came to us very much under weight. I know his coat will grow in beautifully after a while of eating a good diet. Even with his poor condition, his coat is so thick and is starting to feel softer every day.

We discovered that he has the most adorable personality trait after he was with us for just a few days. He SMILES!!! You have to get him really excited, like come home from work, and up goes that top lip. He'll grin the whole time he's walking to you. He loves to play fetch and will bound gracefully across the yard for many balls, or frisbees, until his human playmate tires. After that it's time to curl up by someone's feet for a nice, long nap.

Frio is a gentle soul who is very deserving of a wonderful home. He needs someone who will understand and comfort him when the thunderstorms roll in, as he is very fearful of them, and someone who will be patient when he is unsure of his surroundings. He is still quite timid around some new loud sounds and quick movements. I don't think he has always known caring hands.
