Tequila
It was a
dark and stormy night. I found myself wandering down a deserted street in a
deserted town whose name I can no longer remember. Alone and wet, I was in need
of comfort. Pulling my jacket closer in to me to capture the escaping warmth, I
turned down an even more desolate street. Looking up, I saw the flickering
lights of what looked to be a long-forgotten establishment. Hoping to find a
friend to talk to and a place to put aside the weariness, I opened the door and
found myself looking into the eyes of an old, wizened bartender. 'Hey buddy", he
said.
"What'll be your pleasure?"
Tequila Gold!
I swung around to take a look at my fellow travelers, then turned toward the bar
again, expecting to see a tall glass of pure hell fire sitting in front of me.
But two big brown eyes stared back at me instead! Hair of the dog that bit me
... ha! I had the hair of the dog herself sitting in front of me!
Tequila
is a sweet 1 year old female, full of life, love and bouncing energy, just like
you'd expect from a young pup. The world is her wonder! She settles her
exuberance nicely when she's indoors; and when she's outdoors, she's just what
you'd expect an inquisitive, playful pup to be. Gardeners, before warned!
She's
got quite the thing for fresh cucumbers right off the vine! And maybe all that
health food explains her looks. She's quite the beauty queen and for a
youngster, has a good grasp on manners. She knows how to sit, stay, gently takes
treats, and does not beg for food. Occasionally, she'll put her paws up on the
counter to check out how well your cutting up the strawberries, but a gentle no
settles her right back. She's a very sensitive Golden and seems to have a keen
sense of body language and facial expressions. It only takes one frowny face to
make her realize that whatever it is she's gotten herself into is EXACTLY where
she should not be! And it doesn't take more than one gentle 'no' to make sure
she doesn't repeat the same behavior again. She's been a wonderful companion to
two male goldens - one a junior 2 yr old and the other a senior 9 yr old.
Amazingly, she's brought out the puppy in the 9 yr old and adapts her play
accordingly, giving respect to his age. With the younger male, she's a wrestle-holic!
She'd make a great addition to any household with dogs, regardless of age. Need
a companion for your morning showers? Then she's the girl for you! Definitely
not one to shy away from the water, she loves getting into showers, getting
sprayed with the hose and if there's anything with water in, know that she'll be
- or will be trying to be - right in the middle of it, even if it's just a bowl
full of water!
