S amantha is 7 years old, she is happy, sweet and as you can see loves children. She came to GRR from loving owners who felt they were not giving her enough time and attention and wanted her to have a better life. I'm 7 years old and I came to GRR from loving owners who felt they were not giving me enough attention and wanted me to have a better life.

I am great with kids. I'm currently living with 5 and 9 year old girls. I'm very gentle with them. I never jump up and love to play with my Kong. I like to see how long it takes the girls to get the Kong from me.

My Kong is pretty much my security blanket. I like to take it everywhere I go but I have learned to live without it during walks. Oh yeah, I like walks. I pull a little and like to stop and smell the "roses." If I see a rabbit or squirrel you'd better dig your feet into the ground or else you'll wind up running faster than you ever thought possible.

My foster family taught me that it is OK to spend time in my crate. I sometimes need a little help getting into my crate but after a quick round of “run around the table” with the foster family I go in and settle down. At first they would trick me with the Kong to get me in the crate, but I'm too smart for that now. All it takes is a hold on my collar and you can walk me right in. You need to remember to put my Kong in first along with a few choice snacks. Sometimes I sleep in my crate at night even if I don't have to; after all the foster folks have some pretty nice towels to lie on.

I was an outdoor dog before coming to GRR but so far I haven't had a single accident in the foster house. I get a lot of praise for being such a good girl, and that makes me feel very proud.

I'm great in the car. Don't know about long trips but the small ones don't bother me at all. I like to stretch out and hog the back seat.

I sound like the perfect dog, don't I? Well, I do have a flaw. I'm a little overweight so I'm on a restricted calorie diet. Oddly enough I do like low sodium string beans. I’m getting into shape and I hope my new family will continue helping me stay on the right track.
