Adopted
Rusty
came to us from a family who couldn’t handle this pup’s rough and tumble “Hey!
Let’s play ALL DAY!” disposition. When we brought him home, he ran right up to
his new foster brother, Simon (who by the way looks like he should be named
Rusty!), and within about 5 seconds they were chasing each other through the
backyard and playing to beat the band. So much for slow and easy doggie
introductions! Right off the bat, Rusty was able to bring out the playful side
of Simon and before we knew it they were completely inseparable. It was clear
from day one, that Rusty wouldn’t be leaving our household. Who could resist
that smile? That spunk? That charming little bounce in every step?!
Rusty had spent the better part of his young life in a backyard. He clearly was
one smart little cookie, but didn’t know how to direct his energy and eagerness
to explore. Several household items were explored by his teeth! We quickly
enrolled him in Obedience Training and not surprisingly he was the star of the
class. All it took was some direction and this crazy, wildchild not only took
1st place, but became a model doggie citizen. Good boy, Rusty!
In addition to playing with Simon and all of the other dogs in the neighborhood
(oh, he’s a social guy), Rusty enjoys watching other dogs on the TV. He
especially likes to watch the Field Trials. I think he dreams of retrieving
those ducks himself. He loves to swim, go for long walks, play with all of his
toys, but most especially – he loves to play with Simon.
