Adopted

Abbie is a beautiful blonde girl whom I just adore! She came from a home where she was loved very much. She is very affectionate and loves to give kisses on your hands and on your face!  She is never far away.  In fact, as I write this, she is lying on the floor snoozing next to my other dogs.  When you’re watching TV, Abbie will come and put her head in your lap and sit there while you pet her and scratch her ears.  After a few minutes, she lies down at your feet and sleeps.

Abbie is fully housetrained and a joy to have in the house.  She has free roam whether I am at home or away.  She does not mess with objects that are not her toys, and food is safe left out on the counter or the table.  She is not a beggar, but she does enjoy lying beside the table when you are eating.  The only thing to watch out for is that tail when she gets excited!  It wags back and forth non-stop!

Abbie goes outside when she needs to, but she prefers to stay in the house. She is very good about going out in the morning, at mid-day when I come home from work to let the dogs out, and just before bed.  Other times, when my “boys” like to go outside for a little fun, Abbie prefers to stay in the house. This is no problem, since she is so well behaved inside.

Abbie’s only challenge is walking on the leash.  She loves to go for walks, but she is a puller.  She is very strong and it takes an adult to handle her on the leash.  We are working on this by using a pinch collar, which gently reminds her not to pull so much. I believe that, with more practice on the pinch collar, Abbie will become an excellent walker.

Abbie is energetic when she gets up in the morning and when I come home from work.  She plays very well with other dogs.  If my dogs are chasing each other or wrestling, she joins in the fun.  She also enjoys running around the house with soft fuzzy toys.  She is always amazed when one of the toys makes a squeaky sound; the look on her face is just priceless!  After a few minutes of running around, she is happy to just be petted or to snooze while I am doing chores, reading, or watching TV.

I believe Abbie would do great in almost any family environment—with a single person or a family, with or without other dogs.  As long as you have love to give her, she will love you back ten times as much.  I will be very sad to see her go, but will be overjoyed when she does finds a new forever family to love her as much as she deserves to be loved.
