Adopted

Harper, aka. Skinny, aka. Bag-o-bones Harper;  Found in San Antonio by a Good Samaritan.  Brought into foster care about 10 days ago.  Weight, 52 pounds.  Height, average.  Age, approximately 3 yrs.  Color, red with a wild Kramer   look.   Assumed dangerously lovable.  Armed with lots of kisses.  Known to be a leaner and will roll over and ask for a belly scratch at first meeting.

Yep, Officer, that is the dog, yea, Harper is his name.  He burst into my house last week and immediately made m sit down and scratch his belly.  And, he.. he would not let m go for hours.  Even food was not important to him.  He just wants love, love and more love.  Harper is not sure how to play.  You throw a ball and he will run it down, then come back empty mouthed for more petting.  He is house broken and very calm.  But it is the love, boiling under that calm exterior that is so dangerous.  One look ,  perked-up ears, and a lean on you, and he has you under his spell!

He must have been on the run from the law for some time.  He got real skinny and allegedly starved for attention.   Now he is hold-up in our home waiting for another unsuspecting family to come along so he can just love on them too.  I just hope they are up to it.

When Harper is not leaning on you, he is stalking your every move.  Yes, your Honor, some times I think we need a restraining order to keep him 25 feet away from us.  I lay on the bed, Harper is sleeping on the bed wanting to kiss you.  I work in the kitchen, Harper is in the kitchen wanting to lay at your feet.  I am typing this on the computer, Harper has his nose under my mouse hand wanting his nose itched.  And, lets not even talk about the bathroom!   I dare anybody to sneak out of a room without him knowing it.  But, strangely, he does not recognize a doorbell as a sign that someone is coming into the house.

Harper is just about the perfect dog.  An un-cut diamond.  Rough around the edges, not sure what a house dog is really suppose to do, kind of unkempt, wants to please everyone but still a little unsure.  Kind like my brother-in-law only without the beer.  You can see the best qualities in him and it will be a pleasure training him.  Once he settles with his forever family, he will be the best loyal and lovable dog.
