Adopted

Tanner is a two year old.

When we picked Tanner up a week ago at the vet, his tail was between his legs and his head hung down. "Oh boy," we thought, "this guy's going to need some work. Well, when we got home and he saw the yard, the house and our golden, he perked right up and settled in.

He's just finished his medications for his kennel cough and shows no signs of that and his incision from getting fixed has healed nicely. He has no other medical problems that we know of and is a beautiful, healthy dog. He's put on about 5 lbs already (he weighed only 46 lbs when taken in). He's small in stature and has a thick, strawberry blond coat with a bushy tail that never tangles!

Although he is very gentle with people and well-mannered in the house (some occasional counter surfing) he is full of energy and requires lots of exercise. He skips and hops when playing with toys and balls and even fetches and drops the ball. He's pure pleasure to have around. We don't have cats or kids so can't report on that, but he loves our golden and is very sweet and playful with her.

He's totally housebroken and does not destroy toys or furniture. We've left
him at home with the run of the house for several hours and he did great! He knows most commands like sit, down and especially NO and come. We've just made it through thunderstorms and the 4th of July. Although he jumps at really loud noises he doesn't seem to be traumatized by them.

Tanner will be a true prize for any lucky family. He has lots of love to give and just wants lots of love in return. He's as close to perfect as you can get!
