Dahli is a 15 month old that has never really had a life. She was raised with her sister Mahli and the two girls were surrendered to GRR when their owner could no longer care for them. Dahli quickly learned life as a beloved house dog was what she was meant to have. The sweet girl is housebroken, crate trained and perfect in the house. She loves everyone and especially likes to lean gently on you for some much need human contact and affection.
Dahli the darling saw her first birthday on 2/11/2002. The supposedly healthy gal arrived with her sister and a limp was noticed. A check of the vet records revealed she’d been diagnosed with an injury a year ago, (as a young pup) which the owner never had treated. Poor babe has spent most of her life limping and in pain. To make it even more heartbreaking, we found the pretty redhead had never been in a house before, never seen a toy, never been groomed and her bag of food was literally full of bugs!
She got this initial report form her foster Mom: "Poor Dahli tried valiantly to keep up with her sister and Cricket as they ran through the yard, playing and chasing each other. What she’d really like to do is be able to run and play with them like any normal pup." Dahli was found to have “loose knees”. This was likely from an injury about a year ago as a pup which was never treated and progressed through her short life. She is quite stiff and slow to get up. Surgery fixed her loose knees, so she will once again be a happy, pain free puppy.
6/21 Update:
Dahli has her knees fixed, and is doing wonderfully. She is ready for her new and much deserved forever home!
