Adopted

Peaches came to us with her sister Ginger from a family who could no longer care for them. Peaches is a sweet girl with a nice fun loving personality. She is adapting well to life as a house dog.

Peaches is a total sweetheart.  When I first met her she was with her foster brother and sister.  As I leaned over to pet the dogs, Peaches hopped up a little and gave me a quick kiss.  And I do mean she hopped just a little bit.  Peaches is a tall, big girl.  Peaches was very good in the car as we came home and enjoyed the ride.

Peaches enjoys being groomed.  She has an absolutely gorgeous coat-very soft and full.  She's fun to pet and great to hug.  Peaches has a regal bearing and is very graceful.  She is quite mature for a two-year old.  Peaches came to us about 20 pounds overweight  and she is on a rapid weight loss diet.

Peaches surprised me the first day I had her.  She just had to get close to me when I was petting her, so she jumped up and put her front legs and fore-body in my lap.  I am sure she would have gotten down if told to do so, but she was so darn cute I just had to laugh and pet her.  Peaches seems to have been crate trained, although I have been keeping her baby-gated in the kitchen whenever I am gone.  She has been reliable. She has been very good in the house and has the run of it when I am home.  Peaches knows basic commands such as sit and down.

Although Peaches warmed up to me immediately, she has been more cautious with my very active one-year old golden mix.  She has set firm boundaries in an appropriate doggy way.  Today Peaches started making overtures to my dog-licking her and putting up with her nonsense.  They're sleeping about 1 inch apart as I write this.  I think she just needed time to scope things out and get comfortable.  Peaches stayed in a temporary foster home until I was ready to pick her up.  They had cats and she did just fine with them.

Peaches enjoys fetching her tennis ball and going for walks.  This sweet girl is looking forward to her forever home.  She has lots of love, snuggles, and companionship to give.
