Chauncey... When I picked up Chauncey from the vet, he emerged from the exam room with head down and tail between his legs. He remained very anxious and shy for the first few days. As Chauncey slowly becomes more at-ease with us and his new surroundings, we can begin to see the proud golden inside him. Chauncey is a big LOVE!

First of all, he is beautiful!!! He is light golden in color and fluffy. His skin and coat are in great shape. He thrives on pets and cuddles. He's not so much a 'kisser', but loves to nuzzle and bury his nose into you. When he's scared or shy he hides under your armpit, and we have nicknamed him "Ozzie" (short for Ostrich). He puts his paw on you when he wants some loving--very cute. He gets along very well with our dog, or should I say he puts up with our overwhelming dog?

He very patiently sits through Buddy's barking tantrums and doesn't flinch if Buddy steals a little of his food. Chauncey has tried to charm our neurotic, dog-phobic felines but even he can't win them over. I can see that he is very confused about why they won't be his friend, but that hasn't stopped him from trying. I am sure he would love to have a 'forever' home with a friendly cat to groom him and dote on him. Chauncey loves to play ball in the backyard and carry his toys around to 'show' you. He is learning "sit", but really could use some more training in the basics. He really could be an ambassador for the Golden Breed--loving, lovely, well-mannered... What more could you ask for?
