Adopted

Mariner is a 3-4 year old guy found swimming in the lake by Good Samaritans. No owners could be found anywhere so they took him home and when no one claimed this sweet red guy, they called GRR.  Mariner loves his new life and spent his first weeks in foster care with Lacy at Any Dog Can! training getting the full obedience course.  He was a model canine student, and after graduating from Lacy's, underwent heartworm treatment.  He passed HW treatment - also with flying colors.   He gets this update from his new foster home: Mariner is our first foster dog and what a delightful one to begin with.  He has settled into our home very quickly.  He is very much of a gentleman with good manners.  He does not jump on you and waits patiently to be petted.  He gets along great with our 17 month old Golden.  They play and romp around like they have always been together.  They sleep together at night.  Mariner likes this big dog pillow and is quite comfortable on it.

When I leave the house for short periods of time, I have left him free to roam with our Golden and he has not done any damage whatsoever and we have not had any accidents.   We do not have small children that live in our home, but our little neighbor children come over to swim and he is very gentle with them.  He does not seem interested in the swimming pool and seems quite content to watch McGwire, our Golden, swim all around.

He is by my side constantly.  If I get up and leave a room, he follows me. He rides great in the car.  He does not seem to know what to do with a ball. We are practicing walking on a leash.  He loves walks, but obviously was not taken on many walks.  He responds well to sit and has been a joy to have around.  Hopefully he will teach our Golden some manners because he is a lot better behaved than she is!  He just wants to be by your side and be loved and petted.  We will miss this fellow when he moves on to his forever home.
