Adopted

Jake is a one-year-old male.  This handsome blonde boy comes from owners with small children and not enough time.  He is healthy, happy and goofy.  He gets this update:

Jake is a happy puppy in a big dog coat.  He loves people, attention, other dogs, his dinner, treats and cats -- but cats aren't too sure of him.  He wants to play with everyone!  Because of his outgoing personality, he would probably scare all but the most secure of cats into running, but if the cat stands still, he just wants to play.

Jake is very sweet, willing and smart.  He would make a great running companion and would LOVE to learn anything, whether obedience, tricks or agility.

Jake can BOUNCE!!  He bounces like Tigger -- straight up in the air about 4 feet -- over and over again to get your attention!  He does not jump ON you and is not trying to get out, just get noticed.  Jake does not dig or chew, is not a gate charger, does not appear to have any allergy or skin problems, and is an easy dog to live with.  Jake can swim and likes to chase balls, but is not good at returning them yet -- so have a never-ending supply on hand!

Jake needs a loving and active forever home and will make a wonderful & loyal companion to any family.

An Update from Jake's Foster Family:

Jake has been with us a little over a week now and it has been a busy week!   Jake came in very sweet, affectionate and playful.  The only indication we had that he was stressed a bit was that he didn’t eat very well.  That’s all changed and he’s eating all his food in one sitting.

Jake loves playing with our dog, Cricket.  When she’s being grouchy or doesn’t want to play, he growls like Chewbacca.  It’s really funny.  He also does this when he rolls in the grass, when they’re chasing each other around, and when he’s scratching himself.  He gets along really well with Cricket and if they aren’t playing chase, they are sleeping next to each other

Jake thinks our cat is really cool.  He wishes she would play chase with him, but that’ll never happen.  She mostly growls and hisses at him.  If she runs, he’ll chase, but if she is on the couch, he may nudge her, but will back off if she snarls or if I tell him to stop.  Today the cat and the 2 dogs all slept within feet of each other in the grass outside for about a half an hour.  I think he’d be fine in a home with a cat, especially if the cat wanted a 60-pound buddy.

Jake is one of the prettiest dogs I know.  He is so fluffy and his fur has neat swirly curls.  He reminds me of a lamb.  That would be in appearance only.  Jake is a bundle of energy and not the dog for the couch potato.  He loves taking walks and does fairly well on a leash.  He thinks I turn the sprinklers on solely for his amusement.  Jake will leap through the water, trying to bite it.  At the lake he loves splashing in the water, but is a little unsure of that swimming thing.

He’s actually pretty sensitive to what is going on in the house.  He’s happy to play or will lie down and doze.  Jake is completely and reliably house broken.  We have not had one accident.  He is totally crate trained and doesn’t whine or bark at all when we crate him.   Today I worked in the yard for over two hours and left him loose inside with no problems.  I hesitate to do so because he does enjoy the occasional shredding of fun things in the trash and his foster mom’s favorite shorts!  He is really still a puppy and needs to learn some manners-- We’re working on that.  He will need a family that will be patient with his goofy puppy ways.

Jake is extremely sweet and loving.  He loves to petted and brushed.  He’s very affectionate and enjoys snuggling with everyone.  He really wants to be a lapdog -- he comes up and puts his front feet on me and then REALLY slowly slides up and puts one back leg at a time up until he is on my lap.  He thinks I do not notice that a 60-pound creature is curled up on me.  It’s really cute.

He is good with kids, likes to play fetch (we’re working on the ball return) and loves everyone. This is a wonderful dog that deserves a wonderful family to love forever.  If I wanted 2 dogs permanently- I would keep this great guy for sure.
