Adopted
Clark was on an expedition with his GR pal Lewis (recently adopted) at the lake but it appears their owners
went home without them. Taken in by Good Samaritans, they looked for their owners for over a week and they could not be located. No, your eyes don't deceive you; Clark is a five year old, BLACK Lab! Clark arrives under the "companion clause" in our by-laws that allows us to take non-Goldens in cases where they are companions to
a GR that is entering our program. It just wouldn't have been fair to have Clark exploring the shelter alone... (Note: Lab rescue is full so his only alternative would have been the shelter) Clark is happy, healthy and very nice. He loves to play ball and is quite calm and gentlemanly in nature. So, if there's room for a handsome and
lovely black dog with a heart of gold in your home, let us know!
Update on Clark:
Clark is a very lovable and sweet boy! He has fit so well into his new family life. He gets along well with our other 3 dogs and the kitten. He definitely has been taught some manners and he responds well to "No". He takes his treats very nicely also. He doesn't bother our kitten Toby other than just trying to sniff him. As I am writing this note to you, our kitten Toby, just bit Clark on the nose! He didn't do anything back to Toby! He tries to play with the dogs but they are on the older side and would rather not roughhouse. He does get to play with our neighbors’ dog who is fairly young and small and he's very nice to him.
Clark is very good in the house. We do not have a crate for him. He roams the house and there have been no issues at all about him bothering anything or using the bathroom inside.
He's reliably housebroken and has great manners. He now has his own pallet to sleep on and it fits him quite nicely. It is his bed and he just lies there at night and sleeps very well until it is time to be fed!
