Adopted
Charlie
is a cute little
guy, around age three who was found stray and taken in by Good Samaritans. When
no owners could be located, he came to GRR. Charlie is sweet, loving and great
with other dogs. He's a smaller male at around 60# and loves to be near you for
snuggles. Watch for more as we get to know him better.
An Update from his Foster home:
Charlie is a definite sweetheart. When I first met him, the first thing he did was give me countless licks on the nose. He wanted very badly to get into my car, but didn't seem to think that "jumping" was okay. He let me lift his backend while he did the front-end work to safely stow him into the car. His vet appointment was easy, with a clean bill of health and such a nice attitude, the vet inquired about keeping him for one of his other patrons who are looking for a Golden!Once home, Charlie wagged his little bottom all around sniffing all of the other dog toys and goodies. He met mine later that day, and they have all gotten along great ever since. He loves to "chase" Sherman, and so far, loves to chase the ball too, the retrieving part is not so interesting to him yet. He is very sweet and gentle. He loves to lay at your side, and is also frisky enough to want to play whenever you are so inclined. He does not jump, takes treats gently, and does not get on the furniture. He is very cuddly, and will lay with you as long as you'll let him.He has had one house "accident" so far, but just the once. He does prefer being inside and will sit at the door, waiting, until he is let back in the house. When outside, he loves to run up and down the fence which borders a house with 3 other dogs, barking and wagging, as if to say "hey come on over and play." He has not yet learned to do that only after the rest of the neighborhood is awake. He is good in his crate and has not chewed anything up, but has relocated a few shoes for us. He is currently being crated only a few hours a day. He loves walks and is pretty good on the lead, with light training he will do fine. Yesterday I did make the mistake of unleasing him at my front door which was not totally closed, where he quickly maneuvered himself right back outside and two houses down. He wanted to go back and see the kids who were out front there. He did then come to me, rather reluctantly though, so he may be one to watch for potential bolting. Overall, he is going to make some family one great, loving companion.View Pictures Here
