Adopted

Bond is four years old  He was originally a puppy born from the Tie
A Gold Ribbon puppy mill rescue and shutdown in 1998.  Bond had
wonderful owners that loved him very much.  Unfortunately they had to
move out of state and into housing that would not allow Mr. Bond.  This
happy go lucky guy is settling great into foster care"

We have fostered many GR's over the last year and it is always amazing how each dog has his own personallity and skills.  Bond is no exception.  I can not remember a smarter dog.  And not just smarter than the average bear like "I sleep in this crate over here" or "I hid my bone over there" smart, but high-tech smart.

Bond has his nose in every job you are doing at his level.  While working on the car brakes last weekend, I got the impression he had seen it done befor and in his view, I was doing it wrong.  Darn how did he know?  Then, he locked one of us out of the car.  Hey, lots of dogs can do that by accident.  But, how did he know where the switch was to open the sun roof?

We have been crating each dog separately while the other get's some free time to just relax around the house by himself.  Well, Bond now knows how to open the crate and let his friend out when he gets bored playing by himself.  Hmmm.. I see a pattern here.

Bond is 4 plus years, but still has a lot of puppy in him.  He loves to go for walks, thinks he is a hunting dog and wants to flush birds and deer.  He loves to swim and is great at playing ball.  His intelligence again shows through when working on obediance.  He has mastered the sit/stay command and the lead and is ready for an Obediance 300 course if a family wants to assist in his higher education.

Bond  has a hip dysplasia problem that may have to be taken care of surgicaly.  The Vet says he is in some pain and his activities should be reduced until we can get it fixed.   As of right now, we are trying medical management with Glucosamine and Rimadyl in addition to the activity restriction.   Bond never complains of any pain and is always ready to jump in bed and take a nap with you.   We are watching his weight and trying to keep his activities to a minimum, but you know how many things need to be attended to in a house , and Bond is going to be in every one of them.. especially if they happen within three feet of the floor.

Bond is a great dog and he is going to be a great family dog.  He is ready for your home now .  If surgery is necessary, he will be at 100% after  it and will then be ready for new, more challenging house rules !  He will make a little boy proud when he goes through a formal obediance class or masters a new trick in just a few days.    Bond is a keeper if your looking for a large Golden Retriever male with a  beautiful carmel coloring.
