Adopted

Kris  & Kelly appear to be sisters who were dumped off in a neighborhood near a military base. They are sweet and charming. They appear to be about 14 months old. Kelly is the red girl and Kris the blonde.

Dear Potential Adopting Family:

Hi my name is Kris but my foster family nicknamed me "Kissy Krissy."  I shower them with loads of doggie kisses.  I'm actually beginning to respond to my new name, Krissy.  I wanted to tell you a little about myself.  I'm a petite light colored golden weighing around 55 pounds.  They say I have the cutest puppy face.  (You decide for sure)  I have quite a calm temperament for a 14-month-old female.  I'm very good in the house.  I potty outside, and still need a little work in that area.  I sleep all night without a whimper for my little sissy, Kelly.  We went to different foster homes to have a chance to get individual love and attention.  I'm adjusting wonderfully, I have plenty to eat and I get lots of playtime with my foster dog brother & sister.

There's one more thing I’d like to talk to you about, and that's you!  I'm looking for a wonderful, loving, and patient family to adopt me.  I’d love to have my own home.  I want a family to love me and shower me with lots of kisses.  I've heard I deserve it.  You'd need to be patient, but with some training I can be an outstanding canine companion for most any family.  I’d thrive being the only dog in your home, but I adjust easily to other dogs too.  You'd have to understand that I need lots of loving & petting, so I’d want my share EVERYDAY!  I also LOVE kids.  They are my favorite!  I'm not sure how I’d do with cats as I haven't experienced any yet.  My absolute favorite thing is stuffed doggie toys, which are my ‘babies’, and I adore them!  If you adopt me, I promise to learn to behave & shower with you with all the kisses you could stand.  Think about it and get back to me, I’ll be waiting for a response.

Love, Kris

What is Krissy like?   VERY affectionate!   Loves to lick everything!   Happy, happy dog!   Barks outside at other dogs barking.   Watches airplanes fly over the house.     Watches TV!       She LOVES the television!   Loves her crate, extremely crate trained (because everything wonderful happens in her crate).  Kris gets along good with other dogs, but tries to dominate (but not aggressive, just bossy).   She gets car sick thoug!   She was very calm & well behaved at the vet.  Responds well to "Krissy".   She adores TOYS -- every kind of toy imaginable!   We have a basket that we keep all the dog toys in, and everyday she empties the entire contents all over the family room.   Every evening I pick them up, and we begin again the next morning.   I feel I have a toddler in the house.

She needs work on the leash.   She really needs to go to obedience training when she gets to her permanent home, then she will be superior.  She sleeps all night, and not a peep out of her crate through the night.   The first night was scary for her, but all the others have been smooth sailing!  I would say Kris is housebroken but I'm still very conscientious of taking her out every few hours.   But she has NOT had any accidents in the house or in her crate.  I only leave her out of her crate when a human is home with her.   Otherwise, she is crated.   At night she is crated.   She doesn't seem to mind.   We have a routine of treating our dogs when we leave the house.   They all know that they get a "cookie" (dog treat) when we set the house alarm.   Kris is getting the hang of that too.   She sits patiently in her crate waiting to be the last one served.  Last thing, she has the cutest snore/breathing when she's awake but relaxed.   It’s nothing to be alarmed about, but at first the family might think she’s growling, but she's not.   It's really funny, but it's Krissy and makes her unique!
