Kendra, approximately age nine, was found as a stray two days before Christmas.  She is as nice and sweet as can be.  When we took her to the vet, for her checkup, they got a funny look on their faces and began exchanging glances…  “What?” we said, “Is she OK?”  

“Well she is very underweight, heartworm negative, other than that, she is quite healthy, but… She’s in heat!” they giggled.  So Miss Kendra is in foster care until her delicate condition is complete.  She will be spayed as soon as medically advisable.  In the meantime she is hanging out and loving her new life as a housedog.
